My experience with Red Light Therapy

One day I noticed that my neck felt better when I was in the sun and it was shining directly on it.  However, it just wasn't feasible to stand in the sun all day as I wouldn't want sunburn.

Neck pain is no fun and with herniated discs up and down my spine, constant high level pain had just become a part of life.  Along with the herniated discs I have arthritis in my spine. The neck area has always been the worst though.  And before red light therapy, and DMSO, it was like having a vice grip around my neck all the time.  In fact, it got to the point where I began getting cervical vertigo which was completely debilitating.

Online there was information about a local chiropractor who offered laser treatment for neck pain.  I was interested, and made an appointment for a consultation (free).   As I sat listening to the doctor explain more about the laser treatment, we got to a point in the conversation where the question needed to be asked- how much?  I nearly fell off my chair when he said, $5000 for the laser therapy treatment.  "Oh, ok," I said and quickly made my exit.  At home I began looking information up about this laser treatment, and came across "red light therapy" which was similar, but better.  You can read why here.

Different wavelengths are good for specific conditions, and this chart helped me to see what wavelengths would be best for me.

The chart comes from a very informative article about red light therapy which you can see here.

After some research I decided on a Biomax 300, which was the most economical and advanced panel which I could use at home at my leisure.  Cost: $629.00.

Standing in front of the panel for 20 minutes a day, sometimes twice a day, made an incredible difference in my neck pain.  My vertigo went away.  After reading that you can treat your thyroid with this as well, I simply turn around and stand in front of the light letting it hit my frontal area for 10 to 20 minutes.  My weakness is being consistent and I recently read that is important when doing this, so I have to work on that.  When standing in front of the panel for my thyroid, of course my face is exposed to some red light, and my skin looks so much better I can't believe it.  Also, I have noticed my eyesight improving.

Because I'm using DMSO at the moment for my neck pain, it is a very convenient routine I've developed as after applying DMSO you cannot put clothing on the area treated for 20 minutes.  DMSO will carry any chemicals in clothing (and we have a lot now a days) directly into your blood stream if the clothing comes into contact with the area being treated.  So after applying the DMSO to my neck area, I simply stand in front of my red light therapy panel for 20 minutes, and then put my organic cotton night gown on to go to sleep.  By the way, red light therapy helps you sleep better, and so does DMSO.  Add some magnesium to the mix and you've got the best night's sleep you can have.
